Why Attend a Mi-GMIS Meeting?

Peer-to-Peer Networking: Connect with IT leaders from across Michigan who handle the same municipal challenges you do.

Government-Centric Content: Skip the generic tech talk. Our sessions focus on CJIS, FOIA, Michigan Broadband, and local AI policy.

Direct Vendor Access: Meet vetted partners who specifically understand Michigan’s public sector procurement and security needs.

Collaborative Troubleshooting: Tap into the collective brain trust of the MI-GMIS community to solve your toughest infrastructure hurdles.

Professional Growth: Gain the leadership tools needed to communicate complex tech ROI to Boards and Commissions.

Do you have topics you'd like to hear more about? Or would you like to present at one of our events?

Regional Roundtables

Mi-GMIS is pleased to host bi-monthly Regional Roundtables. As with the roundtables at our annual conference; this format provides a venue for peer networking, problem solving and helpful, relevant, timely discussions about some of the challenges that we all face.

Vendor meal and beverage sponsorship is appreciated, however events are only open to government members and prospective government members.

In an effort to best meet the needs of our members, we anticipate planning the meetings to begin around lunchtime and end around 4 p.m. or so. Please register to help us properly plan for the event.

Spring Mini Conference

The Mi-GMIS Spring Mini-Conference is designed for the Michigan IT professional who needs high-density, actionable training without the extended time away from the office. This concentrated, one-day event strips away the fluff to focus on the immediate technical hurdles facing our municipalities today—from hands-on cybersecurity drills to state-wide broadband deployment updates. Because the Mini-Conference is held in a more intimate, regional setting, it fosters a unique level of "desk-side" collaboration; you aren't just listening to a lecture, you are whiteboarding solutions with peers who are using the exact same systems you are. It’s the perfect mid-year "recharge" for your team to stay compliant with newly released WCAG 2.2 standards and CJIS requirements, ensuring your organization remains secure and efficient as you head into the busy summer project season.

Fall Conference

The Mi-GMIS Fall Conference is the premier annual gathering for Michigan’s public sector IT leaders, offering a unique "brain trust" that you won't find at national tech events.

Unlike generic industry conferences, our sessions are built specifically for the regulatory and budgetary realities of Michigan government—covering critical updates on CJIS compliance, FOIA automation, and state-wide broadband initiatives.

Beyond the classroom, the true value lies in the peer-to-peer networking; you’ll connect with Directors and Managers from neighboring municipalities to troubleshoot shared infrastructure hurdles in real-time.

Whether you are vetting our vetted vendor partners in the Sponsor Hall or developing the leadership skills to translate "Tech Talk" into Boardroom ROI, you will leave Boyne Mountain with a clear, actionable roadmap for your organization’s future.
