David Holcomb, IT Director, Hillsdale County Awarded IT Professional of the Year
| David has been the IT Director for Hillsdale County for several years. Utilizing a very small staff he has creatively developed solutions for the County's technology needs. In addition he was instrumental in coordinating the efforts between the State of Michigan, Merit, and the local community college to get fiber connectivity for all entities as well as direct connectivity to the State of Michigan. He worked closely with the State Attorney General's office to formulate the contract language that is the basis for all counties to follow. |
IT Project of the Year
Eaton County Awarded Best Technology Project of the Year
Eaton County's IT department implemented a county-wide workflow module that enhances the core features of it's document management system. The project brought together stakeholders from twenty two departments/agencies to collaborate on the development of a common approach to receiving and submitting accounts payable records for payment. The IT staff exceeded the original goal to have 10 departments/agencies using the tool by the end of 2012. The efficient design of the workflow model, one-on-one user training, and well-structured project management allowed the project to exceed expectations.
